Skived PTFE tapes are high-density tensilised PTFE films coated with 1.5 mils of high temperature adhesive. They are used in electrical applications where heat resistance and electrical insulation are important. Application examples include use in coil and harness wraps, in transformers, separators, and slot liners. In mechanical applications, skived PTFE tapes are used in flat die extrusions as roll protection due to these tapes’ non-stick surface and high temperature resistance.
